It ranks among the provinces of Brindisi<\/strong> and Taranto, in a position that dominates the Itria Valley<\/strong> on one side and overlooking from the other, to the endless olive groves that reach the coast.
\nSmall town born from a spontaneous architecture and a great sense of community and neighborhood, it’s defined as “a great masterpiece of architecture without architects<\/em>.”
\nBaroque and Eastern Renaissance merge and follow each other creating here a unique architecture and rich in particular features: narrow lanes bordered by houses with white-washed walls, external staircases, arches and flowered terraces.
\nIt is interesting to get lost in the alleys and discover the infinite details of the buildings, in a landscape that seems to be timeless.
\nIt’s a perfect setting for a nice vacation, it welcomes shops and several restaurants in its sophisticated streets. It is famous for its gastronomy, here you can eat in the famous “stove ready,” real butchers who will cook and will serve a variety of grilled meats that you choose by yourself, you can drink seated at a small table in the several open cafes, stroll through alleys and ethnic shops and taking part to a beautiful concert in the streets of the old town during summer.<\/p>\n

–<\/span> On Easter Monday he went to the Shrine of Our Lady of Hibernia, the Madonna of abundance and fertility.
